🎯 Eligibility Criteria CLAT 2026 / 2027
Undergraduate (UG) Course (5-Year BA LLB / BBA LLB):
- Qualification: Passed 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
- Minimum Marks: Minimum 45% aggregate marks for General/OBC/PwD/NRI candidates and 40% marks for SC/ST candidates.
- Appearing Candidates: Students appearing in the 12th board exams are eligible to apply.
- Age Limit: No upper age limit.
Postgraduate (PG) Course (1-Year LLM):
- Qualification: Must possess an LL.B. Degree or equivalent examination from a recognized university.
- Minimum Marks: Minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST candidates).
- Age Limit: No upper age limit.
📚 Exam Pattern & Detailed Syllabus
The exam consists of 120 passage-based Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) to be solved in 120 minutes (2 Hours).
- Marking Scheme:+1 Mark for every correct answer.
- Negative Marking:-0.25 Marks deducted for every wrong answer.

- Click on the “CLAT 2026 / 2027” link on the homepage.
- Click on “Register” and enter your Mobile Number, Email ID, and Name to create an account.
- Log in using your registered credentials and select your course (UG or PG).
- Fill in personal details, academic qualifications, and select preferred NLU test center cities.
- Upload scanned photo and signature as per required dimensions.
- Pay the applicable registration fee online and click Submit.
- Download and print a copy of the final application form for future reference.

If you are appearing for your qualifying examination in March/ April, 2027 you would be eligible to appear for the CLAT 2027 examination. However, you would be required to produce evidence of passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which you would lose your right to be considered for admission.
Q5: My class 12/ Ll.B. results will not be declared by the time counselling commences. How would this affect my admission?
Candidates appearing for their qualifying examination in April/May 2027 are also eligible to apply. More details on the exact manner of admissions, including how you may produce the results from your qualifying examination to the NLU concerned, will be made available by the NLUs at the time of admission.
Q6: What is the time frame for the Current Affairs Including General Knowledge section?
There is no specific time for Current Affairs including General Knowledge for both Under Graduate and Post Graduate.
Q7: I don’t have a reservation certificate right now. Can I apply now and get the certificate later?
Yes, you may apply now. Please note however that you would be required to submit such documents at the time of admission, failing which you would ineligible for admission to the course you may have applied for.
